Growing up, I learned firsthand from my parents how to use herbal medicine and hydrotherapy to treat minor health concerns such as digestive upsets, muscle strains, and cold and flus. My mom has taught me about wisdom of plant medicine, and how to use them as allies and teachers. These experiences sparked my love for traditional medicines native to where I grew up, and my awe and appreciation for healing power of nature.

I have always been drawn to health sciences such as anatomy and physiology as I was fascinated by the intricacy and complexity of the human body, so choosing to pursue medicine seemed like a natural choice for me.  After completing a bachelors of science in Cell Biology and Genetics, I still had every intention to pursue a career as a conventional doctor, but then life gave me the opportunity to pause and put brakes on my chosen path. I decided to work for a while to financially prepare myself for another 4+ years of post-graduate life, and during this time I was faced with my own health challenges that left me feeling hopeless and helpless. I was frustrated by lack of any viable solutions to my health problems. The “only solution” offered for my health issues was to take a pill to “get rid of my” my symptoms when what I was asking for was to understand what was going on in my body, and to uncover the root cause of my problems.

Through my own personal quest for wellness, I discovered naturopathic medicine, which in turn taught me that to achieve optimal health, I needed to address and to balance all aspects of my health including mental, emotional, physical and spiritual.  I learned many valuable lessons: 1) True healing happens beyond just the physical realm, 2) Healing is not linear, and 3) In order to achieve a sustainable baseline for health, I would have to stay engaged and invested in the process and not give up.

My philosophy and approach as a clinician are inspired by not just what I have learned in my 8+ years of post-secondary education, but also by my experiences, challenges, losses and wins based on my own health journey. As my patient, I value your questions, insights and concerns about your health, and I keep your thoughts and feelings in mind when we discuss various treatment options that suit your unique story.
I am passionate about the naturopathic principle of “Doctor as Teacher” and strive to fulfill this role during my time with each patient.  I love to educate my patients about their bodies, and how it all works together, and in cases of disease, what seems to be out of balance.

As my patient, I want you to leave my office feeling heard, valued, cared for, understood, and empowered by the knowledge and understanding of your own unique path to healing. You are an active participant in your health journey, and together we will come up with a sustainable plan that keeps your unique health and wellness goals in mind.
